Yesteryear actor Kantha Rao, who was ailing for some time with lung cancer, passed away a short while ago. He was 86. Kantha Rao earned a big name by acting in folklores and mythological films.
He acted in more than 400 films, including some in Tamil and Kannada.
Some of his best films were in the direction of Vittalacharya. Kantha Rao also impressed everyone with the role of ‘Narada’ in many films.
Kantha Rao was only next to NT Rama and Akkineni Nageswara Rao in terms of popularity in the sixties and early seventies. Date of Birth16 November 1923,
